The Interreg V-A Romania-Hungary program will be implemented during the 2014-2020 programming period, continuing the funding of cross-border cooperation in the Romanian-Hungarian border area through the European Regional Development Fund, with the support of the European Union and the governments of the two states.
The goal of the Interreg V-A Romania-Hungary Program is to finance joint Romanian-Hungarian projects that require a common approach and innovative solutions to meet the needs of both sides of the border, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the eligible area. The Program continues the cross-border cooperation implemented in the region, its total budget is approximately 232 million euros, of which 189 million euros is a non-refundable grant from the European Regional Development Fund. Eligible partners come from 8 border counties: Satu Mare, Bihor, Arad and Timiș (in Romania) respectively, SzabolcsSzatmár-Bereg, Hajdú-Bihar, Békés and Csongrád (in Hungary).
Under the INTERREG V-A Romania-Hungary Program “Nature preservation, protection and promotion on both sides of the Romainian-Hungarian border” (Acronym: PRONATURE) project ID number ROHU 126 was realized with the cooperation of 4 partners.

The project aims to enforce a set of measures to protect, preserve and harness of the protected natural heritage from Natura 2000 ROSCI0062 Defileul Crișului Repede – Pădurea Craiului and Natura 2000 Berekböszörmény–Körmösdpusztai legelők HUHN 20103 sites, to promote the natural and cultural potential and of the measures for protection and environment protection on the both sides of the Romanian – Hungarian border.
